Blueprint to Graduation
As 8th graders, students create a graduation plan during course selection to prepare for 9th grade. We understand that this is a 'plan' and may need adjustments along the way. Use the resources linked below to guide you in selecting your courses, choosing a program of study, and developing your 4-Year Plan
What We Offer
Klein ISD offers a wide variety of courses designed to meet the needs of every student. Explore the links below to learn more about our CTE Programs of Study, Advanced Academics, and more. We encourage you to watch the videos that spark your interest and dive into the course catalog to discover all the opportunities available to you.
Choose Your Courses
Now that you've explored the available resources, it's time to select your courses for the upcoming school year! If you need guidance or recommendations, your current teachers and counselor are also excellent resources to help you make the best choices for your academic path.
Parent Night
Join us for a Course Selection Open House on Thursday, January 23! Families are welcome to come and go as they please. Counselors will be available to answer individual questions, along with CTE teachers, coaches, and fine arts directors. In addition, this is also a great opportunity to get clarification on Dual Credit and AP opportunities, as well as explore all the course options Klein ISD has to offer!
Deadline for Course Request Changes
We understand that plans and preferences may change after selecting courses in January. Students can make changes to their course selections by submitting a counselor request in Schoology.
Please note that the district deadline to make changes to course requests for the 2025-2026 school year is April 4, 2025.
Helpful Resources for Incoming Freshman
Transitioning to high school is a big step, and getting involved is one of the best ways to make it memorable. At Klein High, being a Bearkat means embracing opportunities to connect, grow, and shine. Whether it’s joining clubs, participating in sports and fine arts, or volunteering, you’ll find your place and make the most of your high school experience. Plus, it’s a great way to meet new friends and discover your passions! 🐾
Counselor Conferences
Counselors will meet individually with each 9th-11th grader to review course selections, answer questions, and ensure they are on track for graduation. Juniors will meet with their counselor in the counseling suite, and a pass will be sent to them. Freshmen and sophomores will meet with their counselor during their English class. Refer to the course selection timeline to see when your student will meet with their counselor.
