KleinServes 2024: Klein High Students Lead Day of Service

Student volunteers from Klein High School gathered to give back to the community that has been giving to them since they were little through KleinServes, a day of service.

This student-created event, launched in 2018, saw participants engaging in various activities. 

From running a car wash to beautifying the school courtyard with new plantings, the students took charge and made a difference. Sophomore Marcus Hampu, a member of the KleinServes Leadership team, expressed his pride in continuing this tradition. 

“As a school, we really focus on our Klein5 values, one of those is service,” Hampu said. “We are taught that together as a student body, we can make a difference in our community. And that’s what KleinServes is all about!”

Throughout the morning, volunteers shared the five Klein High core values of empathy, gratitude, perseverance, integrity, and, most of all, service on this special day of volunteering throughout the Klein, Texas community.

There were many service opportunities for the students to sign up for:

• Klein High Greenhouse Cleanup
• Assembling First Aide Care Packs
• Beautifying the Klein High Courtyard
• Creating Greeting Cards for the Elderly to Send to NAM
• Making Dog Care Packages for Local Animal Shelters
• Visiting Auberge Senior Living Facility
• Strack Intermediate Cleanup
• Volunteering at Magnificat Primary Cat
• Community Car Wash
• Blood Drive
• Food Drive
• HEB Parking Lot Cleanup

The event not only promotes the school's values but also fosters citizenship among students, instilling a lifelong habit of giving back.
