4 Klein ISD Students Selected for Elite College QuestBridge Scholarships
Four outstanding Klein ISD students have been awarded full scholarships to elite colleges through the QuestBridge National College Match program.
QuestBridge is a national nonprofit dedicated to connecting high-achieving students with leading higher education institutions.
All four Klein ISD students received full four-year scholarships to some of the nation's most prestigious colleges.
Honiely Aviles
Honiely Aviles, a student from Klein High School, has received a full scholarship to Dartmouth College. Dartmouth's Ivy League status and strong academic programs will undoubtedly provide Honiely with an enriching college experience.
“Figuring out how to pay for college has always been at the forefront of conversations in my family. Before getting matched with Questbridge, I figured I'd stay in-state and attend a public university to help reduce costs for my family. Applying through Questbridge was extensive, but I knew I would regret it if I had not given it a shot. So when I saw the confetti stream down my application portal, I couldn't help but cry tears of joy. Getting into the Ivy League has made my family proud and allowed me to leave a legacy of academic excellence for the rest of my siblings to succeed.”
Alyssa Jones
Alyssa Jones, another student at Klein High School, has been accepted into Davidson College. Alyssa's academic excellence and dedication to her studies have earned her this incredible opportunity to attend Davidson College, a prestigious institution known for its liberal arts education.
“My parents were very excited because I am the first to go to a college of this prestige. It feels surreal to know I will be in Davidson, North Carolina, this time next year. I am very excited and happy that I have this opportunity, and I'm glad that all my hard work through high school has paid off. It is news that I never expected I would be successful enough to receive. Having our full tuition and things like board and meal plans covered is such a huge weight off my shoulders.”
John Nguyen
John Nguyen, representing Klein Forest High School, will join Vanderbilt University. Vanderbilt's commitment to academic excellence and research aligns perfectly with John's ambitions, and his scholarship ensures that he can pursue his dreams without financial barriers.
“Learning that I received this scholarship meant the world to me. It means greater opportunities and paths that I never thought I would be able to tread upon.”
Aiman Limbada
Aiman Limbada, a Klein Oak High School student, is headed to Bowdoin University. Aiman's journey to Bowdoin will be marked by intellectual exploration and growth in a supportive and rigorous academic environment.
“Getting matched with Bowdoin was a surprise and a dream come true. I never expected to go out of state, much less get such a generous scholarship to a school that only matched with 19 finalists. It means a lot to me that I no longer have to worry about student loans and can explore what interests me without worrying about tuition costs. Questbridge opened so many doors for me that I had never even realized existed, and I look forward to exploring them all.”
As these four young scholars embark on their college journeys, they carry with them the hopes and dreams of their communities and the promise of a brighter future. Their success inspires all students facing barriers to higher education, showing that with determination and support, even the most ambitious dreams can become a reality.
